The Edison Downtown

Established in 2021, The Edison Downtown is a brand-new wedding and event venue located on Broadway in downtown Schenectady, NY. The venue is exclusively owned and catered by Albany Seasons Catering. The name The Edison is an homage to Thomas Edison, who came to Schenectady to start up Edison Machine Works and merge it with the Edison General Electric Company in 1889. Eventually, Edison’s building became the home of the Schenectady Gazette.

As our venue renovated the building to become the home of The Edison Downtown, we made sure to preserve the history and charm of the building. In fact, the original printing press from 1894 is still here, as is the exposed brick interior.
